Christmas

We had a very busy Christmas Eve and Christmas between getting Santa pictures with cousins, Mommy baking, finishing last minute shopping because of the snow and getting to all our family obligations. Keegan did great for the most part (see below), he was pretty uninterested in the presents, but played with the toys once they were opened. He was very spoiled by our families, so THANK YOU everyone who participated in making Keegan's first Christmas lots of fun!

The only bummer to our holiday was that we all ended up with colds. Keegan woke me up in the middle of the night on Christmas with a high fever, so he got his first dose of Tylenol. He was very crabby Christmas Eve and I had just figured he was overstimulated and tired, but I think he must have been getting sick before we did.....poor guy!

I think I must have jinxed myself by saying he was doing great sleeping because he is now doing horrible and is back to sleeping with me and if I try to put him in his crib before I can even let go of him he is awake and crying.....sigh. I'm hoping once he is feeling better he will go back to sleeping on his own and sleeping through the night.

A Christmas Miracle!

About a month ago Jason and I were out shopping and he found a baby bib that said "All Mommy wants for Christmas is a Silent Night." and I said that was pretty much what I did want since Keegan was getting up 4-6 times a night and sleeping in bed with me and I was getting no sleep since most of the night he was sleeping on my chest. Not to mention the fact that Jason sleeps downstairs and I had been sleeping upstairs for the last 2 months. Well it looks like I am on my way to getting my Christmas wish. Keegan slept through the night in is crib for 6 nights in a row without him having to "cry it out", then had 2 crummy nights of him crying and I would go retrieve him and bring him into bed with me, but then last was a great night again! This might be the best Christmas present ever! Thank you Santa and Keegan!

Santa

Keegan had his first Santa picture. This is actually a picture that Jason took and is cuter than the one that we bought....oh well! Keegan did great, I think he could have cared less whose lap he was on although he thought the beard was interesting and tried to grab it.

A Weekend of Firsts!

Keegan had a very exciting Saturday. It was his first waterbabies class. We went with Mac, Krista and Tanner and we did the class while the guys swam. Keegan was a little unsure of it and had zero smiles, but every time I put him down in the water he would kick. This is us both looking grumpy even though we were having fun. After class we went out to lunch at Roundtable pizza and Keegan got to sit in his first highchair (other than the one at home). He sat in it almost the whole time until he started to get sleepy and was slumping down. He and Tanner were great sitting next to each other......
Then Keegan fell asleep in Daddies arms at the restaurant. Jason looking really happy at having his picture taken.

Keegan's first snow!

I think he was more interested in the plant than the snow....

I'm 6 months old!

Keegan is now 6 months old and is still very busy growing! We took him for his 6 month check up and he weights 21 # 4 1/2 oz (95 %) and is 26 3/4 inches long (75%). Jason and I are still amazed at what a chunk he has turned out to be since we were both small babies. Oh well, lugging him around is an amazing arm workout! He is such a great baby and I am thankful everyday for how content and happy he is.

Keegan's new favorite thing is pulling Mommies hair! Tons of fun for me!

Happy Birthday Monkey

Marley turns 2 today! I really wanted a dog and when I found Marley online and realized that he had been born on our 1st wedding anniversary I knew that I had to have him. Jason said we could go look, but we were not getting a dog that day.....well the rest is history! Once we saw that 3 pound bundle of fur we couldn't resist and what a good decision it was. Marley has been an awesome little dog, who thinks he is a big dog. Happy Birthday Monkey.

Happy Anniversary

Happy 3rd Anniversary Jason! It is amazing how fast 3 years have gone by and how much we have accomplished during that time. Building a house, getting a dog, having a baby....all big life changes and we have come through it all together for better or worse. I love you and appreciate all that you do for us and I hope we have many more anniversaries to celebrate. Sorry to everyone else who has to read this and thinks it's cheesy!

Three years ago today.......

Jumping Boy

The benefits of having 2 older cousins are getting all the toys they have outgrown! Thanks Auntie Bridget and Lydia for lending us the rainforest jumper....Keegan loves it.

Thanksgiving

We had a very busy day of going to Joel and Angela's house for one dinner and then going to my parents house for dinner after that. Keegan did really well despite it being kind of an overwhelming day. Of course, like normal we suck at taking pictures and only captured 2 the whole day, neither of which contain the 3 of us together....oops!

Sitting Up

Keegan has been working very hard on sitting up, but is still pretty wobbly. He sits really well with the assistance of the Boppy pillow or a hand from Mom or Dad. Keegan also sat in his first cart at Costco. That was an exciting step for me since he is getting way too heavy to be carting around in his car seat. He loved sitting up and looking at all the TVs in Costco.

Apple Ring

Keegan loves chewing on EVERYTHING and I have been trying to find things that he can hold onto and are okay for him to be chewing on and my Mom told me about the perfect solution. Apple rings! You core an apple and then slice it and it is perfect for Keegan to chew on and he really enjoys them. He can't take any bites yet, but he definitely gets juice out of them.

My New Favorite Pic's

Balloons and Cups

Keegan saw his first balloon last weekend at his Great Grandma Peggy's surprise birthday party. He was really interested in it and was holding onto the ribbon and of course trying to put the balloon into his mouth! I gues the party must have been too much fun since he crashed out while I was holding him upright. He is also totally obsessed with cans, cups or anything we try to drink out of. If you put a cup near him he will try and grab it and pull it towards his mouth. I don't think he actually wants to drink anything, he just wants to chew on it! I decided to give him a sippy cup even though it is a little early thinking he might like it, but he could care less about that....he just wants Mom's cup!

I'm 5 months old!

Keegan turned 5 months old on this very important election day. There have been many other exciting things in the past week or so. He has tried rice cereal, bananas and rice cereal wafer things called Baby Mum-mum's. I didn't think he would really eat them or be able to hold it up since they are pretty long, but he devoured it and started crying when it was gone!

He is really interested in cups or cans or anything people are drinking out of. I gave him an empty coke can and he held it and put it right up to his mouth....I guess he takes after me on that one!
Keegan also graduated to riding in this stroller the normal way rather than riding in his car seat attached to the stroller. It was exciting for me, but he just seemed to take it all in stride!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We had a fun day of "trick or treating" or at least the Keegan version of that, which involved going to see grandparents at work and visiting my brother James and his girlfriend Angela's house. No costume this year for him just pants and a shirt with bats on them.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was another great fall day so we headed to the pumpkin patch at Schuh Farms with Keegan's cousin's Addison and Lydia, their parents and Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mike. It was lots of fun watching the girls run around and check everything out. Keegan rode around in his stroller or enjoyed being carried and looking at all the sites.

Rice Cereal

We tried giving Keegan rice cereal yesterday and he was not having it! He tried it and swallowed a little bit, but mostly he was grimacing and pushing it out of his mouth. By the faces he was making you would have thought we were trying to poison him. I really thought he was ready for solids, but I guess we will have to wait awhile and try again.

I'm 4 months old!

I know I say it every month, but it is hard to believe he is getting so big and is already 4 months old! I took him to the doctor yesterday and it is astounding how big he is. If he didn't look just like us I might think they switched babies on us! Keegan now weighs 18 # 5 1/2 oz. and is 25 1/2 inches long. Jason and I were both little babies, so it is crazy to have this BIG kid. Other than growing like a weed Keegan is smiling all the time, laughing, playing peekaboo if you hold something over his face, holding toys and everything that he can get to his mouth is going into it. Keegan also started playing in his exersaucer this week, he seems to like it, but still is a little unsure of what to do.

Keegan also had pictures taked with his cousins Addison and Lydia yesterday. If you want to see some of the pictures you can go to Lydia's blog under Keegan's friends.

Keegan is going to get his first rice cereal today, so I'm sure we will have some great photos to add later!

Such a big boy.

So many changes! It is amazing how much he is changing every week. Our camera battery died last week and I had to order a new one online and I couldn't believe how much I missed our camera and would want to take pictures of him. I guess I am hooked on blogging, which I never thought I would be.

Keegan started grasping toys recently and just today started putting the toys in his mouth.

Jason had a softball game tonight so I put Keegan in his cozy bear outfit to stay warm and it was too cute! I couldn't stop laughing. He has really found his hands and loves sucking on them...he is intently staring at them in the first picture.

Boating in July

Yeah! I finally figured out how to make a slideshow (Jason did the other one and could never tell me how he did it). This was Keegan's first trip out on my parent's Nordic Tugboat. We went with my parents, both my brothers and the dogs Marley and Tug.

Go Seahawks!

Keegan and Daddy watched their first Seahawks game together today. I found this outfit for him for game days! I think Keegan is much happier than most of the other fans after this game!

Tummy Time

It's hard to be on my tummy! I've been trying to have Keegan spend more time on his stomach since he is getting a little flat spot on his head, but he gets pretty frustrated and seems to spit up every time I put him on his tummy. He can roll over, but since he has gotten so big it's gotten harder for him.

I'm 3 months old!

Hard to believe that Keegan is already 3 months old, the time has really flown by. He is a BIG boy...I weighed him at my work last Friday with his clothes and diaper on and he was 15 pounds 8 oz. he definitely isn't missing any meals! Keegan is talking, starting to grasp things in his hands and is super alert and really enjoys looking at his surroundings and the people around him. I also started taking him to a Mommy-baby play group on Tuesdays where we sing songs and visit and he seems to like the singing and looking at the other babies.

The last 3 months have been so amazing and so much fun. I love being home with him and watching him change, so I've decided to stay home with him through the end of the year.

We just got a Bumpo chair from his Aunt Angela (thanks!) and put him in it for the first time. It was pretty comical he kept trying to straighten out so he would be leaning way back in the chair, but he finally started to figure it out and was smiling.
