Helping Dada

Jason once again lowered Keegan's crib (this time to the lowest setting) since he was pulling himself up all night and disrupting his sleep. Unfortunately, our plan to stop that didn't work out quite that well. I put Keegan in the crib and on the first try he pulled himself up! It was so cute to watch Keegan interacting with Jason and so interested in the tools and what his Dada was doing.

What's Out There?

Keegan is so mobile and is exploring every part of the house he can, which also involves trying to pull himself up on everything. Sometimes this is successful and sometimes not. We definitely can't leave him unsupervised for a second since we never know what he will be getting into.

The other day he crawled over to the sliding door and pulled himself up and was fascinated by everything outside. Marley came up to the door on the outside and Keegan thought this was great! Then the fun was over when I didn't catch him and he fell on his bum! Poor guy!

And so it begins.....

Keegan is mobile now! He is military crawling, but he can definitely go where ever he wants. He thinks this is pretty funny since he can now follow you if you leave the room or leave you behind if he wants to. This is a whole new world for him to explore now and he is taking full advantage of that...finding dog toys, shoes or anything else interesting that is on the floor.

Keegan is also starting to pull himself up and has pulled himself up in his crib twice. The first time his crib was still on it's highest setting and I had a little panic attack to see him standing there, but luckily Daddy got to work and lowered his crib that day! Keegan hasn't been sleeping well and I think it is all this new stuff he can do.

Keegan also discovered that he can hide things and put a ball in the cushions of the couch the other day.

My Favorite New Toy!

Keegan got a balltivity center from Aunt Bridget, Uncle Matt and Lydia for Christmas, but I just opened it last week and he is crazy for it! When you push the lady bug it plays music and blows air that moves toys and balls around. He thinks it is funny to try and grab the balls while they are going and there is a alligator whose mouth opens and closes and he loves to stick his finger in its mouth.

Keegan also reached a big milestone, no he's not crawling yet, he has his first black eye! That's a big thing for a boy! Okay, not really, but it was bound to happen sooner or later especially since he is on the move. He is military crawling and scoots across the floor by pushing his knees too. He can definitely move fast when he wants to. Of course, the black eye appeared on the day he is going to have pictures with his Great Grandparents. Hopefully it doesn't show up in the pictures.

Easter Baskets

On Friday my Mom, Keegan and I went to Tacoma to visit my Grandma. She gave Keegan his first Easter basket and he loved the grass in it more than the actual toy. He had lots of fun pulling it all out and spreading it all over while Nana picked it up.

Sunday we went to church with Jason's family and then had a nice meal over at Joel and Angela's house. Keegan got an Easter basket from his Mamo and Papa and one from Great Grandma Peggy and Great Grandpa Jack. He loved the duck basket and the balls that came with it. He had lots of fun taking them out and putting them back in the duck.

Too Funny!

This is too funny not to share, but let me also say that yes, I am making fun of my husband, but only in the nicest sort of way, because I would never want to shame him in front of all our blog readers.

Saturday was my birthday and my day started by sleeping in, Keegan slept in until 9am which meant I got to also. Then Jason surprised me with breakfast and flowers before I left to go to a massage appointment and he watched Keegan.

When I got home from my massage this is what I saw (see picture below). Jason had given Keegan a bath and dressed him in jammies again, but not just any jammies a top from one set and a bottom from another. His excuse was that he didn't know what I would want to dress him in, hmmm I don't know maybe pants and a shirt? Too funny!

So, I took Keegan upstairs and got him settled down for his nap and saw the bathroom light was on. I looked into the bathroom and this is what I saw.

Jason had gone into the spare bedroom and gotten Keegan's baby bathtub with the newborn sling attached (it was stored away since we don't use it anymore) and given him a bath in it. I have no idea how our almost 24 pound kid fit in it with the sling attached, but it cracks me up thinking about it. I asked Jason what he was thinking and he said "I don't know that's what you gave him a bath in last time I watched." Hmmm, maybe he needs to be a little more hands on during the weekends?

Anyway, the whole story was too funny not to share, but thanks for trying Jason and I love you anyway! The rest of my birthday was not quite as funny, but it was great! My parents watched Keegan and we went to REI to get a new coat since mine had been poached in Mexico and then we went to the Keg for dinner. All in all it was a great birthday. Thanks everyone!

I'm 10 months old!

Keegan turns 10 months old today, which is also my 29th birthday. It seems like the months have just flown by! Keegan is started to want to crawl and is getting off his tummy and rocking back and forth. I think it is only a matter of days or weeks before he is fully crawling and then there is no looking back! A whole new realm of parenting for us to have a mobile child!

Keegan also has his 2 bottom teeth and one of his top ones is just starting to peek through. He seems a little fussier with the top ones and is also having a little teething diarrhea especially at night, lots of fun for me! Not the cutest picture, but it is the only one I could get that shows his teeth.

More Cabo

Things I forgot to mention in the other post about Cabo:

My parents were there with us, thanks for the help and paying for lots of stuff! :)

Keegan got bit by something one night while asleep and woke up with 4 bites on his face and neck, which are SUPER attractive right now and I feel bad taking him out in public since people probably think he looks contagious!

Keegan also became super attached to his binkie and it appears in lots of pictures since he wanted it most of the time. I'm going to have to wean him back to only having it at naptime and bedtime...wish me luck!

Our attempt at a family photo....

Playing in the pool

Cabo San Lucas

We survived! We made it back from our "vacation" to Cabo San Lucas and I say "vacation", because I'm sure any of you who have traveled with kids know that it is not really a vacation. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it is also all the same stuff you do at home (naps, diaper changes, bath's, laundry etc) except you aren't at home.

Keegan was a champ for his first airport experience and airplane ride, but it was pretty chaotic for us with 3 checked bags, 3 carry on's, the carseat and Keegan. A lot to carry and keep track of, but we made it to the hotel only having lost my North Face fleece, which we think the taxi drive conveniently left in the trunk (it was the last thing put in the trunk on top of all the other luggage, so it should have come out first), but it was a minor thing to loose in the scheme of things.

Now onto the more fun stuff, so you don't think this whole post is me complaining! We did have lots of fun taking Keegan in the pool, walking around town, going on a boat ride and having lots of yummy desserts at Senor Sweets. The weather was also amazing...80 degrees with a slight wind, so we didn't get too hot. It was a very nice change compared to the cold, drizzly weather we have been experiencing lately.

I still have pictures on our other camera to download, so check back for more pictures later!
