Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I have definitely NOT affectionately renamed Keegan's afternoon naptime "Craptime", because almost everyday for the last 2 weeks instead of taking a nap he instead poops and then I have to change his diaper and he won't settle down again.

We had dinner last night at my parents and Keegan was being fussy about what he would eat so we gave him a blueberry yogurt, but wanted to use the spoon himself, so I definitely did NOT give it to him so I could possibly eat an ounce of food myself. Keegan did NOT get so dirty we had to put him in my Mom's new, large dog sink in her laundry room. While getting him undressed for this I did NOT have him standing on the counter facing me while I took off his diaper and I really DIDN'T think geesh this is a pretty dry diaper only to have him start pissing all over me and the floor.

Keegan did NOT get attacked by a mosquito one night this week and did NOT end up with 7 bites and this did NOT make me feel like the worst mother in the world that he was getting eaten alive while sleeping!

Keegan did NOT meet my brother's new girlfriend and flirt shamelessly with her the whole time she was here.

I did NOT buy poster paper a few weeks ago to put behind Keegan's blinds to block some of the light coming in early in the morning. I did NOT do this because I am cheap and didn't want to deal with finding and installing curtains in his room. This didn't actually work though, so I did NOT end up having to find curtains anyway. Keegan definitely didn't sleep until 9:30 this morning with the curtains up rather than his normal 8am wake up.

Hope you enjoyed all the things I didn't do this week as much as me!

Keegan's Party

We had Keegan's party on Sunday and it was so much fun! The clouds disappeared and the sun came out just in time for the party to be outside. We got Keegan a sandbox for his birthday and Jack and Peggy got him a pool, so the kids had lots of fun playing in both of those. I made cupcakes and Keegan really enjoyed his first cupcake. All in all it was a lot of fun and thanks to everyone who helped celebrate Keegan's first birthday! If you want to see more pictures from Keegan's birthday click here to go to his cousin Lydia's blog.

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo....

Well, actually we already went, but anyway....Keegans birthday started off my us singing to him in his crib in the morning and taking his picture (a tradition started by Jason's Mom). He was pretty unimpressed.

Then Keegan got to open a present from us.

Then the highlight of our day we went to the zoo! Keegan really liked looking at all the animals and we got really lucky that the otters, a bear and some sort of primate all came right up to the glass were he could really see them. Jason, of course, avoiding being in any pictures.

After the zoo, we went home and had ice cream with a few family members before it was off to bed for the tuckered out birthday boy!

Happy Birthday Keegan

The past year has been so amazing and I feel so lucky to be Keegans Mom. He is such a sweet, happy baby and I honestly can't imagine life without him. It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone by though and how much he has changed. I will post more later or tomorrow with pictures of what we were up to today celebrating with him, but I just wanted to say "I love you Bug!"

Children's Fair

On Saturday Jason, Keegan and I met up with Mac, Krista and Tanner at the free Children's Fair in downtown Mt. Vernon. It was definitely for older kids, but we had fun walking around, eating ice cream, getting pony rides (the kids) and looking at the animals. Keegan also managed to find a few of his favorite things....doggies!

Early Birthday Presents

On Tuesday night Jason's Dad Randy and his wife Marcia came over to give Keegan his birthday present since they are not able to attend his birthday party. It was nice to visit with them and Keegan got a music shaker made out of a gourd and a wooden toy. He loves both of them and has been having lots of fun.

Almost One

Keegan is almost one and I am getting sentimental thinking about how much he has changed over the last year. It has been so amazing to see him growing and developing into a big boy, so I put together a collage of pictures from June 2008 to May 2009. Enjoy!
