I'm 18 months old!

Keegan is still growing and changing like crazy...here are a few tidbits from the last month.

  • The other day I gave him his "lovey" and he said "thank you, Mommy" without my prompting him at all. So sweet!

  • At his 18 months doctors appointment he weighed 25 lbs 8 oz. and was 32 3/4" tall.

  • He still loves golf, but has moved onto football and "baball" (basketball). He has a football and runs around and wants to tackle you or throws himself on the ground for a touchdown. Keegan can say "touchdown, tackle, catch, throw and football." We got him a little basketball hoop for Christmas and are really excited to give it to him!

  • He still isn't really into veggies, but will eat any fruit. He is especially enjoying bananas, frozen blueberries and satsuma oranges right now.

  • Keegan is also obsessed with Wii. If he sees the controllers he will pick them up and say "Wii, Wii" because he wants you to turn it on and let him play. He likes the tennis and boxing the best.

  • Mamo (Jason's Mom) got Keegan a plastic snow globe last year and a nativity house this year that both play Christmas music and he loves walking around playing the music and dancing.

  • His FAVORITE song is The Black Eye Peas "I gotta feeling" and every time we get in the car he says "peas, peas" and when the song is over he will tell us "more." He also likes listening to football in the car and asks for that too.

It is amazing to me the things he likes and he is very adamant about what he wants and when he wants it! He is starting to maybe show a little bit of the terrible two's and has developed a loud "NO" yell.

Snow

Yeah, the first snowfall of the season! I was so excited to take Keegan out in the snow since this is the first time he could really experience it, since he was so little last winter. Getting him all bundled up was an experience, he was not loving putting his snow overalls on over his jammies, then his coat, boots and hat and we decided to skip the mittens so he could touch the snow. Out we went and no reaction or excitement from Keegan at all! I think he had fun walking around but he could have cared less about the snow unless it was on his boots and then he was mad and wanted it off!
We ended up going out twice and I think the second time he had more fun and would actually touch the snow. He also started saying snow, but it sounds like he is saying "no."

Santa

We took Keegan to Skagit Valley Gardens to get his picture taken with Santa last weekend. It's something they do every year and the proceeds go to charity, so we thought we would go there instead of the mall this year.

Despite waiting an hour and a half to have his picture taken we had a lot of fun. They have a big store with tons of decorated trees and displays and Keegan loved wandering around and looking at everything. They also have a cafe there and Keegan got a cookie which kept him happy.

I thought Keegan would do okay with Santa since I had been talking to him about Santa and showing him pictures and then while we were in line we took him up and showed him Santa and Keegan was waving to him. Yeah, not so much....I put him down next to Santa and he instantly burst into tear and starting calling for me! So sad, so Jason and I sat down with him, not that it calmed him down much. I guess I won't be getting my cute smiling Santa picture after all!
